Third Teacher

Third Teacher is a new concept to most high schools. "3rd Teacher" has been part of elementary schools for years.  The environment within the classroom, has a lot of impact on a student's life, has a lot to offer, has a lot to support student's learning and helping them reaching their full potential.

On May 6th 2014, we were among a very elite people who had the privilege of visiting St. Anthony Catholic School. Principal Beverly Paven, along with her amazing teachers, opened their school doors as well as their warm arms to welcome us into their school and classrooms!

Check out these amazing pictures on "Third Teacher" that is already happening at this amazing school.

Exercise ball & Math Corner gives a sense of relaxation for clear thinking

No desks in rows and chairs ... simply "Home" at School

Classrooms has its own NAMES!  Incredible

Everything is placed in a certain way to accommodate all students

Nature inside to give a sense of admiration and recognition to mother Earth

"Concept of Patterns" was brought to LIFE with this kids made chandelier

Students can relax with this drawing corner and natural log, enough to give a sense of being outside

Constructions from basic natural wood to engage and ignite child's wildest imagination

St. Anthony Catholic School is not limiting the 3rd Teacher concept just within the classroom! The new project that is taking underway is to build a classroom OUTSIDE the walls! They have already established and designated a small space outside the school to place furniture for the kids to learn.

I am thrilled to introduce this new concept to my high school. The new "change" in my classroom, and its impact and effect on my students. I am, just like you, very curious!

Will be posting BEFORE & AFTER pictures.

The 4 C's!

The 4 C's enables every teacher to bring the best in every student. The main question is: Are we (teachers) ready to change our practices?

Not in a particular order; the 4 C's are

1- Critical Thinking

2- Creativity
3- Communication
4- Collaboration

If we can embed at least 2 of these C's in our classroom, we have succeeded!

Never STOP learning!
